The difference may seem subtle, but in reality it is far from negligible.

The expression “dosing pump” means a device that doses without proportionality, in a constant manner, i.e. a simple doser that works without interfacing with the process and without any control over the effective quality of the dosage.

When we speak of a “dosing system”, however, we mean a sophisticated set of elements that work in a coordinated way to guarantee a superior quality dosage: in the iAM Perfect systems, the dosing pumps with stepper motor vary the flow rate continuously to ensure proportionality, by interfacing with the inductive meter mounted on the system.

In addition, load cells or mass meters control the actual dosed amount, detecting and signaling any deviations from what has been set.
